ABOUT NAVTECH

Engineering that moves fleets forward.

Navtech is a marine & offshore design consultancy providing practical, class-compliant engineering for ships, barges and offshore assets. We focus on conversions, refits and new-build support where clear drawings and fast approvals matter.

Navtech team and marine engineering work

We work with ship owners, operators and yards to turn ideas into buildable, survey-ready solutions. From feasibility through class submissions and yard support, our aim is to minimise rework and give every stakeholder clarity on scope, loads and risks.

Typical work includes oil-to-bitumen conversions, helidecks, canopy and deck strengthening, ballast and piping modifications, machinery and electrical upgrades, and custom loadicator / stability tools.

Conversions & integration, end-to-end

Navtech has developed a repeatable process for bitumen tanker conversions, including thermal systems, hull strengthening and stability updates. We coordinate closely with class and yards to keep scopes practical and buildable.

  • Thermal boiler and heating-coil sizing, heat-loss calculations
  • Structural modifications to decks, bulkheads and foundations
  • Updated stability booklets, damage cases and loadicator integration
  • Full drawing & calculation packages for class approval

Multi-disciplinary marine engineering

Our team covers the core disciplines needed to move a project from idea to steel:

  • Naval Architecture – hydrostatics, stability, load line, seakeeping
  • Structural – global and local checks, scantlings, FEM where required
  • Piping & Machinery – systems integration, BWTS, HVAC, fuel, bilge
  • Electrical – load analysis, single-line diagrams, equipment layouts
  • Outfitting – helidecks, ramps, canopies, access, safety arrangements
  • Digital – bespoke loadicator and calculation tools for operators

How we deliver projects

  1. Scope & survey. Clarify objectives, class and operational constraints; site visit / 3-D scan where needed.
  2. Concept & feasibility. Layout options, weight / stability impact, cost and schedule implications.
  3. Basic & class design. Drawings and calculations prepared to class templates; support through comment cycles.
  4. Detailed & yard support. Production drawings, MTOs, vendor data and clarifications during fabrication and commissioning.

The result is a predictable path from first idea to signed-off drawings and a vessel that performs as intended.
